Cogeneration is a distributed energy solution where power, heat
and chilling can be generated on-site. When a facility has a large,
dedicated heating or cooling load, cogeneration often has significant
economic and environmental benefits. A gas source (natural or biogas)
fuels a turbine which drives a generator and possibly a compressor.
The waste heat from the turbine can be used to provide hot water
or heat for other purposes.
The PES team has extensive experience designing and implementing
energy efficiency and on-site power projects. PES team members have
experience with the development and operation of more than 600 MW
of cogeneration and multiple district energy systems. To date, the
company has designed, developed, evaluated and/or installed more
than 3 MW of solar electric generation systems.
